HMPE HIGH PERFORMANCE ROUND SLING

Ultra-Maxx HMPE Round Slings are manufactured from a continuous loop of High Modulus Polyethylene (HMPE) fibres, encapsulated in a durable double-layer protective cover. These high-performance slings offer exceptional strength while being up to 80% lighter than traditional sling types. Their lightweight design makes them significantly more flexible and easier to handle, improving efficiency and reducing user fatigue during lifting operations. Ideal for demanding applications where strength, safety, and ease of use are essential.

Description

Features

  • HMPE slings are much smaller in size and have a far greater D/d ratio. Allowing for the slings of the same WLL to be used with the equivalent sized shackle.
  • The stretch (elongation under load) of polyester is around ten times higher than high performance fibres like HMPE.
  • HMPE yarn is much stronger than polyester, making a sling of the same working load limit (WLL) significantly smaller in size.
  • Larger polyester slings need to use larger shackles as the D/d ratio of standard shackles of the same WLL is too small. A bulky sling around a small pin, causes excessive forces.
  • Polyester slings are heavy compared to HMPE slings as more yarn is needed than HMPE to make a sling of the same WLL.
  • HMPE floats in water. It is not uncommon for the sling to end up in the water. Polyester will absorb water when used outside which makes it even heavier.
